Having previously camped while on a bike trip to the Blue Ridge, I feel qualified to say............................................... ..............
Holiday Inn is the way to go. Motel 6 if you wish to rough it.

Motel'n it is good after a few days of camping. Good to get clean and do laundry, and stuff. But nothing is better than camping out away from it all.... peace and quiet ...

And how much didn't you spend? Saved enough money on not using motels that a person can get a few more days riding, etc.

I'm more of a fair weather camper. If its dry, decent air temp, showers at the campground, then I camp. If hotel prices are outlandish, then I camp. If hotels are cheap then hands down I stay in one. I always bring camping gear on any overnight trip just in case. But the older my bones get the more they hurt when I sleep on the ground. I couldn't always, but now its not a hit to my wallet to stay in a hotel. That also makes a difference.

In the past few years I've done a bunch of business traveling. Holiday Inns are very spotty; some good some bad all somewhat expensive. The Holiday Inn expresses however are an exption. They tend to be good lodging at good prices.
The more expensive exsive hotels are good for graging mud and grease throught their expesive pretensious lobby's once in awhile though.
As sapper points out though, camping gets you places Hilton wouldn't go.

Naw ........ that's what KOA is for! After a few days primitive camping everything you list and more can be found at any KOA.
I'm in my mid 50's and still camped every day on my 30 day Alaska trip. A thermarest is as good as any motel mattress

I've been a MC camper for 20 years and absolutely love camping on a bike, in comfort...
I have a couple Eureka tents to choose from, a couple great sleeping bags to choose from, and WON'T go camping without an inflateable air mattress. 6" thick air mattresses are cheap at WallyWorld ($20 for a twin) and for another $5 you can get a great blower at Harbor Freight that'll blow the sucker up in less than a minute and packs away in an area the size of of a good sized coffee cup..
Why would I choose camping over hotels?? I travel for a living, and live in hotels (90% are Holiday Inn/Express) about 12-15 days a month.. I currently have over 150,000 Holiday Inn points, and it's only 11,000 for a free night at an Express.. Problem is, I haven't found a Holiday Inn that allows a campfire in my room yet.
I like camp cooking, sleeping outside, and rain doesn't bother me in the least when camping.. If anything, drops on the tent fly help me sleep better.. 8)
Here's a picture of my KLR that I rode to the BMW national rally last summer. (The BMW stayed behind) I had everything I needed for a 4 day weekend on the bike, and had room to spare..
