Hello, I've been lurking at this site for a while considering the DL650. My main reason for considering the Strom is I have a three mile dirt driveway. I think it would eat most street bikes. Washboard, 6"sand, gravel, mud etc. The issue... I'm 6'3", 200 lbs with a 34" inseam. Ive seen a lot of discussion about the ergonomics of the bike but haven't seen anything from someone with my dimensions. I haven't done a lot of riding, but took the Safety Course using a Ninja which I found pretty uncomfortable. So, will I be too tall for this bike? Thanks for any comments in advance.

Hi Dave. . .
I'm 6' 2 1/2", 175lbs with a 36" inseam and I'm not the tallest rider in our San Diego Group....That honor goes to SanDiegoLand. Speaking for myself I can't imagine you being too tall for the bike. I use a WindStrom Manta in the lowest position and chnaged the stock seat for a Gel Seat. No problems with 5-600 mile days (occasionaly even longer) ergonomically speaking.

and here I thought you were paging me. I love my Strom and for a little guy like you it will be very comfortable.

6'3" w/33" inseam. Knees bent a bit more then I like but the tall seat I ordered should fix that. No problem flat footing it

6'4, 35" inseam, 230 lbs. Comfortable without question.

6'5" / 34" inseam / 230lb. The Strom is a "big guys" bike. It has a 60.5" Wheel base so it always feels stable on "not so good" surfaces.
It's a stretch to say it a really good dirt bike at 475 + lbs, but the high suspension should really help you negotiate that driveway you describe. Just stay with the dual sport tires.

No problem with legroom with the 650 seat. When to a Zuk 1000 gel seat to keep my butt from getting sore (after a few hours). Still too early to judge the new seat.
This one of the few bikes that seemed to fit me.

6' 6" ~ 240 lbs. fits like a glove. It's the main reason I bought my 1k - it just... fits. :) I toyed around on the 650 as well, but for my bulk, the V hauls me around with less fuss.

Thanks to all. I looks like the Strom will be right for me and if the knee position isn't quite right it sounds like the 1k seat may help. At least it will be an option. Thanks again and I'll go back to lurking, at least until I think of another question or can convince my girls to stop taking so many dance classes and let me have some of my money back so I can buy!
