Bought a new 2008 DL650 from On The Edge in Amherst, Ohio. Still waiting for the owners manual and the heated grips. Everything is "back-ordered". This is my 1st new motorcycle and I wanted to do everything by the book. Dealership keeps telling me it's back-ordered. It's been over a month. Thanks,.

Write it off to the popularity of the bike, I ordered a Suzuki manual from an online service manual place and it was back ordered for a month there as well. Hope this helps. I didn't do the heated grips, though in hindsight......... :rolleyes1:

The owner's manual or the service manual is back-ordered? I assume you mean the service manual since the owner's manual comes with the motorcycle.
Congrats on the new purchase!

When I bought my 650 last May I bought the Suzuki topcase at the same time. It was backordered too. It finally showed up in August! So this year, thinking I would outsmart them, I ordered the side cases in February with the assumption that they would be here by the time riding season began. They showed up the very next day. The lesson learned: if you order popular accessories during the riding season, expect to wait for them. It does seem odd though that you'd have to wait a month for a service manual. It may be because the 08 manauls haven't seen a full print run yet.

I picked up my new service manual (DL1000 2002-07) yesterday at the dealers. Two weeks from order to delivery and this was not the dealer where I bought the bike from. Maybe yours will be here soon.

Sometimes getting parts for the Vstrom takes a long time. The motorcycle industry hasn't caught up to the instant-everything world we've come to expect.

Still waiting for my sides and top cases.Paid for them back in march on the 17th.have been told 3 times they were shipped and would be in the next week.was told friday that they were shipped and would receive them next week sometime. Then they said the top case had been back ordered till 6- 06- 08.Oh, i almost forgot, your windshields and design for airflow SUCK!!!! And what's up with those tall mirrors??? Do you guy's not have a wind tunnel or just never drive over 40mph.That part of the bike is still killing me and I cant even get on the highway because it's too dangerous to drive with your vision blurred so bad.Im even thinking about selling it next year and not buying from Suzuki any more.

There is better luggage, windshields, seats etc....than what you can "ever" get from factory....get your money back and be happy. By the way...most factory shields suck, it is a very common issue.

You can get a factory manual from ebay for $60.00. Available NOW.
Heated grips from Suzuki are expensive. Another source is Custom Chrome. They sell their heated grips for $90.00 with that boxy controler.
As far as luggage goes, for street, GIVI has a HUGE selection to choose from, and prices are better than Suzuki. For off road, Adventure Moto Stuff. They are also a site sponser. You will get a deal from them. They sell GIVI as well.
