I finally got it figured out. This is for 2003-2003 DL1000's with the nasty 'Chudder' problem. This is a terrific presentation.

If you'd like a step-by-step powerpoint presentation on exactly how to replace your clutch basket, start to finish, go to:

http://www.clanfield.net

Scroll to the bottom of the page, double-click on the PPT icon and start the download. It's 9 megs, so shouldn't take too long to download.

Let me know what you think when you see it. :p:p

That was amazing Janice. If Suzuki could make a shop manual using PP, the mechanics would all be out of business.

Come on mods....this should have already been setup as a sticky....my understanding is that most of the early year models shared this problem and JC did on heck of a job building this info.

WOW !! New Vstrom owner here and always looking for a little help. This is an Awesome PPT ! Splains everything clearly. Also, Thanks for letting us "hog" some bandwidth off your server, at 10MB thats quite a contribution, over and over. This file goes in my DL1000 Directory on DVD.

Keep Faith Janice -n- Thanks :D

Or they'd finally figure out how to do the TBS correctly.

I don't do much of my own maintenance, but with this powerpoint, it was a piece of cake. It surprised me when the clutch actually worked and the "chudder" is gone. (This is on a used 02 I bought late last summer.) So thanks very much.

I don't totally understand the repair manual's instructions for bleeding the coolant passages. Does it mean to open the top drain plug on the water pump several times? Else, where does the air exit?
Thanks,
Charley in Utah
