View Full Version : Anyone up around Wichita Falls?

Hi, I just got my DL650 about a month ago and I'm looking for anyone that has some good ideas for rides around here. I see a bunch of riders around DFW, but that's a ways to go just to start a ride. Well, hope there's a few up here. :D

Well, I found a couple good rides so far. going around Lake arrowhead and Kickapoo are good. then up north of Lawton in the Wichita Mtns there are a couple good roads. Need to find a few people to ride with around here though.

Howdy, pit. Welcome to the DL world. Lots of 'Stroms around but looks like not too many in your neck of the woods.

Look at some of the threads in this section - there are other groups that ride and meet in one place or another - maybe you could join us - check the one on the "pie run" in Hico - had 6 'Stroms on that one.

I saw that one. I'd love to get down there, but that's close to four hours away. My butt isn't up to that just yet. My longest ride has been about two hours one way, four total, and I was sore from that. I've been told that you work your way up to it. I sure hope so. I'm hoping to get down around DFW an join up with some people down there. I have a friend that bought a 1000 right after he saw mine. Unfortunately, he had a little accident. Broke his collarbone. So, he's out of action for about another month. But, he'll be back riding soon.

How are ya! I live in Burkburnett but I am currently deployed to Iraq. I will be home in Feb and will gladly do some riding with you then. Wichita Mtns definitely has some nice roads up there. Then you have to stop at Meers or the Riverside Cafe for some damn good chow! Look forward to meeting up with ya in the Spring.

There is more activity in the DFW area but we get out up towards the Red River and Meunster occationally. There are monthly runs to chase obscure places to eat pie - Hico, Marble Falls, Huntsville, Edom, etc. Be pleased for you Wichita Falls area guys to come join us. Pit, you should be ready to try one to Hico on the 29th... :D
