So... I admit it. I wash my bike maybe 3 or 4 times a year. I just couldn't stand the rusted exhaust system anymore. So I attacked it with my favorite polish. Gords!

Looks NICE!!!!

I'm seriously considering having my exhaust Jet Hot coated this next winter.

I've been quoted $90 for the whole "header system", and it comes with a lifetime warranty.

Ever thought of that??

Header coatings, like paint but withstands 1200+ degrees and reduces your header temps.
(often some kind of ceramic compound that transfers heat better than just steel alone)

That stuff looks like it works really well, thanks for the post. I'll be picking up some to clean up the exhaust!

That is a good price!

Is that a friends price or is it for the regular customer?

There are 3 dealers within 25 miles of my place. What color to pick? Silver? ;)

Polish is $35 for a bottle that will probably last forever. A bit expensive,... but $90 to coat the pipe and you never have to polish it, priceless. Of course you could just ignore the discoloration.

A shiny pipe is simply a future obligation of time, to keep it that way. I scrubbed mine fairly clean with a Scotchbrite pad, put on a couple of coats of hi-temp flat black, and have been ignoring it for a couple of years now. No need to remove the pipe, just slip some newspaper behind it to block overspray. I think the can was 8 bucks, and it is still half full, so the next coats will be free.
