"V for the motor" says captain obvious.

The literal translation for Strom is Wind, but I understand that is it used to express excitement.

Strom means stream, as in small river, but can also mean current as in electric current. I think the electronic term is more relevant.

I pulled the Strom sticker off my 650. DL650 is more descriptive since the 650 and the 1000 are different animals.

I posed the question to a professor of German and she confirmed that it can mean stream or electrical current. She did say it was considered a very powerful German word. Here, of course, people invariably call it the V-Storm. I'm going to take the sticker off as soon as I find something to fill the big red space.

I'm not positive, but a friend named Eddie Goldstein say's it's Yiddish for "fun to ride"

strom is also kind of a slang for Power, as in electical power provided to the home. IE: I"m gonna go pay my strom bill today, or, the strom is out. I like the power idea, personally. :D

The guys I run with believe "V-Strom" stands for Chick Magnet" since other women always walk over and talk to me and not them!
