Going to Dallas/Plano for 5 weeks...

Hiya,

As I mentioned in Stromtroopers general part of this forum I am going to visit Your part of the US. It's a little bit unusuall because.... I have never been in the US before :rolleyes:.

I would be much appreciated if anyone of You give me some valuable info about what is worth to visit, where can I find some interesting places. I will rent a car so will be able to move around Its a pity that my company will not refund bike rental :sad:. But..... I ve just given the information that the bike rental is possible http://www.sportryderrentals.com/Motorcycles.html It's a pity they don't have Wee :rolleyes:. Who knows maybe I will decide to rent 2 whells for a few days and make voyage to look around.
It would be nice to meet with some of You, share with my experiences about bikes and different stuff.... I would like to find some accesories

I will stay in Plano for a 5 weeks, hope we will be able to meet soon...

here I am... after too long journey I found car rental, my hotel and try to sleep a little bit :rolleyes:

In the mourning great weather, I mean warm temperature welcomed me. It was fabulous cause in Poland we had snow and low temps.
I like Your roads, cars, motorcycles I must say I am very impressed what I saw. I like sounds of your V8 engines ;-)

I have been in freys, walmart and ross and made shopping there.

Does anyone of You want to spot with me?

Yes, still in... and will be till the end of April.

I did not decide to rent a bike - rather too expensive over 200$ for weekend is not so good.

Few days ago I saw V-strom rider on Coit Road in Plano who's been wearing reflective jacket - it was about 8.AM.

I like may things here.... good cars, roads, I think living here is much more easier than Poland... but everyday I see that many things are over over sized... big wasting of energy, natural resources...it seams that nobody cares about it. In Poland I posses VW turbocharged engine with 60m/gallon millage, gas cost triple times more than here.... Most trucks passing me are only with one man inside... I can understand that is way of living and Americans got used to it during the years... but is it really the necessity? It doesn't mean that I don't like that kind of living.

It's a pity that nobody wanted to meet me ;-(. Not gonna bite....

Americans are very wasteful but we're trying to change that. Can you imagine how much things would improve if those of us that are physically able scooter or motorcycle to our destination when feasable? Some have said that if we could use 10% less in gasoline/oil that the price of oil would plummet. Riding motorcycles/scooters/bicycles would be more like a 50-60% reduction.

I am a V-Strom rider with a reflective jacket and have ridden on Coit but not that day. Sounds like one of my comrades

There is what is called a Pie Run on Saturday 4-26 in Marshall, TX. It looks like about 25 or so bikers from different parts of TX will ride out there, meet at a restaurant, have lunch (and pie) and socialize. Its about 160-170 miles each way.
