Are Crap. Don't buy one unless you want the little vent cover in the chin bar to flap in the breeze and cause a "clicking" sound to go through your entire helmet driving you to the brink of insanity when you ride.

...although - my wife was wearing one of these when she went down and it did a great job of protecting her so no complaints in that department. I have an AGV helmet that has a vent doing the same thing. Annoying. I'm not sure if it was a problem on that whole line or mine just happens to be a POS. I never wear it in favor of my Arai...always good to have a spare.

Did you take it back to the dealer? Just wondering if they're all like that or if you just got a bad one.

The Icon rep wasn't there the day I went. Next time I'll call ahead. To answer your question:
Most of the brand spankin new Icon Mainframe helmets on the shelf had the same problem, some were even worse than mine. A couple of them did not have the loose part. I know that when I picked mine up new there were no loose parts on it. The problem started occuring after a couple of months. I would not have chosen this helmet if the part was loose to begin with. I believe it is just shoddy manufacturing on Icon's behalf. Hoping to get up to the dealership again soon and speak with the Icon rep to get some satisfactory resolution.
