As most of you know, the V-strom stock seat isn't so great. So last summer I got a "custom seat maker" to redo mine. He basically took the cover off and then put in some of that 0 density "memory" foam which isn't really memory foam but just the stuff you put on top of your bed. Anyhow, I was really dissappointed so I have been looking for another solution. I spent $125 on that other seat mod that was a total waste of money and I tried the $40 sheepskin on top of that. It was ok, but not really much better than stock.
About 2 weeks ago I found a guy here in Fayetteville named Tom Simmons. He has been doing custom motorcycle seats since 1972. His website is http://www.tscustomseats.com/
This is my seat: (click to enlarge)

This is a side view, he added 3 inches in height and moved me back 3 or 4. There's also some blue trim. I've only ridden for about an hour at a time, but that would be rough on my butt on the old seat and it is pure heavenly on this one.

He was also nice enough to polish my aluminum saddlebag bracket (made via someone's plans I got on this site)

This is the most comfortable seat I've ever sat on. Nice and firm. I'll let you know more as I break it in.
