Ok, so I got sick of getting my sunglasses out of my car and I broke down and bought a set of Bobster interchangeable sunglasses/goggles.

The concept is pretty cool. The idea is you can insert any combination of lenses into the frame and the frame adapts to both goggles and glasses. Put another way, one frame, two ways for it to stick to your head and three fashionable colors for your viewing pleasure. The set I got came with three sets of lenses: clear, amber and a dark tint. The lenses also have padding around them so when used as goggles they seal around the eye socket. If you are punk I am sure you will like mixing up the lenses to make the world look right;.... I digress.
The optics are pretty good. I am not an expert on this topic but when I rode with them I never had any fish eye moments or the overwhelming desire that some creature was following me just outside my vision. The trees never bent/morphed and the road was where I thought it was so I think the lenses are pretty neutral.
Two wanks and a complaint:
Wank one: The goggles only come in one size. The one size fits me great but I also have been called Herman Munster before and so they don't fit my better half’s smaller face. The goggles don't cup around her eye sockets because the frame is too big and does not flex enough. As glasses they look well ah, not fashionable due to their size. Come to think of it they kind of like the front of the vstrom on a small face…. Again, I digress…
Wank two: The part where the earpiece arm thingy and/or goggle band attaches to the frame is really really tight. You will feel like you are going to break the thing getting in on or off. I really would not want to try this with cold hands clinging to the side of a truck stop for warmth.
Up side: they stay attached!
Down side: more crap to fiddle with before you ride.
Complaint: Speaking of breaking, they did. The first time I used them as glasses, I pulled them off and the right hinge snapped. I had on a full-face helmet at the time and the pressure apparently was too much when pulled from the frame. I suspect pulling them from the arms will work but still I think this is kind of lame.
I talked to the place where I bought them and after discussing it with them we decide the fastest route would be for me to contact the manufacture. I emailed them May 22nd (Sales@Bobster.com) but have yet to hear from them (June 1). The shop where I bought them is going to yell at the sales rep for me so we will see where that leads.
Other than the hinges being made by Carl Faberge and the lightening fast customer service department they are pretty good. I like the concept but would not buy them again till say revision two or Carl is made to retire.
Hope this helps.
