I like 'em.

Yeah, but with no rubber pad, they look really uncomfortable for riding barefoot.

But seriously, I wonder how much of a difference that would make on felt vibration through the pegs?

well, we have identical DL650s, so I'll ride 'em both and compare :-) I noticed it on acceleration slightly, but that's it.

my XR has non-rubber foot pegs and it vibrates waaaaaay moor then my DL... The problem I have with the DL pegs is that when I slide my size 12 down to shift the rubber peels off the peg and makes it difficult to shift some times. I thought about just removing the Rubber and cutting some notches in them, but then I figured I might break them doing that!!

I put Fastway Evolution II F3 http://www.fastwayperformance.com/evopegs/ on my wee strom and they are awesome.
Had to modify them a bit to make them fit by grinding the collars a few mm's but they provide a huge platform for standing up on the pegs and are very comfortable in every day use on the road.

Which fitment Fastways did you use? They have five different models of both the "F3's" and F4's"

I read somewhere that KLR pegs will work on the strom. Can anybody confirm this? It would make shopping easier.

Hey, I am looking for some offroad-style pegs. Anyone get the Moose offroad pegs, any feedback?

The pegs from the KLR or that fit the KLR will fit on the 1000, I don't know about the 650, which means the DR 650 pegs will work just fine and are very reasonable in price. I have these installed on my KLR for a total price of about $30.

Picture of the DR pegs on the KLR, I made the rubber inserts from some old pegs

The part numbers needed for the above: DR650 steel pegs (1995 or equivelant), you need 1RH front footrest, 43550-44B10-019; 1 LH front footrest, 43560-44B10-019; and 2 springs, 09448-15008. www.ronayers.com has the best pricing.

Thanks for the info and photo--this looks like a nice mod, I think I'll put a set on my 1000 and see how it rides. I like the convex profile, it will work good with my enduro-style boots.

It's weird, after a couple of weeks of ownership and a few hundred miles the only thing I don't like about this bike is the footpegs. The seat and windshield are just fine, it rides and shifts smooth as butter but the pegs SUCK. Very mushy feeling, I figet a lot trying to get a "feel" for where my feet are, it's almost like the rubber rolls or bunches up??

Anyhoo, since I lack Jkams mechanical ability I'm going to hope fastway starts making a DL peg before Spring.

there is a list somewhere of interchangeable parts....
i know that the front pegs on the 1000 and 650 are interchangeable, but the rears are not <god bless those engineers!!!>

The www.fastwayperformance.com site lists F3 and f4 series pegs for the DL now.

About the DR650 pegs: Do they give you any extra seat-to-peg room?

I emailed Fastway and they replied that a little grinding (like Jkam mentioned) may be needed. If I knew how to grind I'd buy a set in a minute, I tried Velvetrides (on her F650) and they felt great!

To borrow a line from a recent Sesame Street episode, "You know how to grind, you just don't know you know how to grind." :D

Afix grinding bit to Dremel tool, turn Dremel tool on, make contact with offending metal, grind until satisfied. Nothing to it.

Received said Dremel tool for Christmas 2 years ago, only out of the box long enough to realize I don't know how to operate it. Maybe I should take it to the next ride-in for some tips??

Sure, and bring the Fastways--we'll have 'em on in no time. Failing that, I'm sure we can find someone's bike to "practice" on.
