We had our local board (www.easttnriders.com) EOSB (end of season bash) on Saturday and a couple of the guys decided to stay away from the crowds on the gap during the day and spend it riding the FS roads. I decided to join in and take the V since I haven't had the opportunity to get off the pavement for awhile. My boy wouldn't let me out without promising to take him too. No problem there since he's been my riding buddy since he was 7.

The two guys I rode with , one on a DR650 and the other on an R1200GS, had been doing alot more gravel and off road than I so I was hoping I wouldn't slow 'em down too much. Well it turn out the V did very well. This thing can be a handful when sliding two up with luggage but once I got the steering with the rear down it was on. Oh, and I inadvertently caught a little air a couple times. That'll pucker ya up when you're not expecting it.

Here's a couple pics of the day. Didn't take too many 'cause we spent more time riding that picture taking. Next up for the V...skid plate, stiffer springs, superbrace, and TKC's. Oh, and after 150 miles of gravel and dirt it was back to Deal's Gap for the party.....scraping pegs and passing the non local sportbikes.

Cades Cove before we hit Parson's branch over to 129.

Under the Cherohala on 217. Dropping the air in the tires for the roads ahead.

Great pictures. I love the picture of the guy smoking when there has been a ban on burning with all those leaves around!!! That is evidence if a fire had started for sure:mrgreen:

lol. Yeah, from the pic that does look like a bad idea. Actually from all the rain we had for four straight days prior everything was pretty damp and soggy. I found out real quick just how slippery that wet packed clay was on Parsons Branch, especially runnin' 40 psi in the rear.

Gotta go get a good fire road map of Cherokee North and Nantahala now to fix this new addiction. And I thought the track was fun...
