Interesting bike that 800s. It has the smoothest parallel twin I've ever ridden. I'm use to old Triumphs and Nortons. Coasting down off throttle it is whisper quiet, due to the belt drive. Good mid range power. They say it has more torque than the Wee although it is hard to tell as it is geared relatively high. Starting off 2up would require more revs and clutch slip than the Strom.
On the plus side once moving it spins up quickly and runs strong. It is also light and takes the twisties like it's on rails.
The seat is quite comfortable, you could probably go all day on it. The leg room is tight for a 34 in. inseam. I found myself leaning to far foward for my own personal taste.
The one thing I found odd was the length of time it takes to boot up once the key is turned. No quick get aways here.
Over all an interesting offering from BMW however not for me.
Now were can I get my hands on a Street Triple?
