Good day, I am looking for a Canadian retailer for SW-Motech. I am a little sick of the dreaded UPS truck showing up with a big Brokerage Bill, and retailers that refuse to ship USPS, which will only charge me GST on the ammount, as they are supposed to, so importing across the line is a last resort, but I am trying to find luggage mounts for my DL-1000 and these appear to be among the best.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I believe ChunkHR was talking about luggage racks and you are talking about crash bars.

Well, there are mounts listed on the Suzuki.ca site, but no pictures.

I will have a look and see if I can get a picture somewhere.

Motor Sports World in Ottawa is an SW Motech retailer, 613-225-2892, Charlie in parts dept. Very good service.

Twisted Throttle wanted $200 US for my SW Motech skidplate. Motor Sports World got me the same one for $188 CDN in June. The funny part is that they get their stuff from Twisted Throttle too. I also bought my SW Motech Rad Guard in Ottatwa and it too was cheaper. Now that the exchange rate is at par I don't know what the prices would be. I just wanted to avoid the cross border shipping issue.

you might want to try these guys http://www.motosports.ca/

Address:
5210 North Railway St SE
Medicine Hat, AB T1A2Z8
CANADA

Phone: (403) 527-5116

They are a Twisted Throttle dealer (like Motor Sports World) and might be able to get what you want. If you go to the Twisted Throttle website you can find a list of Canadian Dealers.

Kinda thinkin of getting a SW centre stand. I tried that link, says the site is under construction. What is the business's name?

Cheers!

That previous link should have taken you to Medicine Hat Motosports Ltd. I copied it directly from the Twisted Throttle website. Don't you just love it when it says "under construction" , it's not exactly helpful.

This link will give you a list of all the Canadian Twisted Throttle dealers. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/link/dealerlist/Canada#list

Any of these daelrs should be able to get you what you want from SW Motech. When Iwas looking for a skidplate and radguard I used a Twisted Throttle dealer in Ottawa and actually got the parts a lot cheaper than if I had ordered them myself. Find the dealer closest to you and give them a call. It worked for me :D

You could probably order from the closest dealer over the phone and have them ship to you. I considered this option before deciding to just do the 6 hour return trip to Ottawa to pick up my stuff. Shipping from a Canadian dealer is way cheaper than deciding to order from Twisted Throttle. Maybe the dealer in North Bay, or perhaps one of the Alberta dealers? If you knew someone near one of those dealers that would be perfect.

You might also consider calling Twisted Throttle to ask if they have an authorized dealer in Manitoba. It could be that the list is inaccurate.

As far as centrestands and crash bars go, I have the Suzuki stuff. The crash bars are identical to SW Motech and if the centrestand isn't the same, it's awfully close. It's easier to get and the price difference doesn't make ordering it elsewhere worthwhile.
