I tried to revive the old bowhunting thread from the off-topic forum ... without success...
So here is my problem/question.
Does anyone of you ever had to carry a bow (compound in my case) while riding ?
It is pretty easy to find hard case for bows, but nothing suitable for a bike.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Cabelas website does have a bow rack for an ATV, but you could possibly find a way to mount it along the side of the bike. Or, maybe a bow hunting specific backpack that is made to hold a bow?

Thank pizzmor,
Just checked the Cabelas website, and there are definitively some nice options there.
I dont know why, but I didnt though about backpack before... maybe because I am not used to that.
Thanks for all that.
I can find my way into that.

Being a bow hunter too, I have wondered the same thing. Seems that maybe some of these ATV cases/mounts could be adapted to attach to your hard case mount if you have them.
Along these same lines I bought a GPS mount in the ATV section at Sportsmans warehouse. $17 and it works fine, not that pretty to look at though. :D

Strip the screen off, bolt the bow across the top and scare the shit out of a few SUV's.
"Go ahead, make my DAY!"
Cheers

You bow hunters must not get your deer very often. Going to look rather silly with a gutted buck dripping blood strapped to the rear of your seat.

Well... Honest... I ve never kill anything... But I shoot on target only... That might explain :)
Here, in Taiwan, Hunting is prohibited.
(some ants, spiders and flies maybe... few cockroaches...)
I like the idea of the backpack, but I couldnt find anything that looks suitable to ride.
I might try a DIY solution onto some special bow hardcase... Using my Givi hard case mount.
Did not realize you were just target practicing. Bow deer season is under way here, and I made a bad assumption. I plan on getting at least one deer with a rifle this year. Got three last year. It is my oldest sons first year of being able to shoot (12 and passed his fire arms safety class). My dad (Grandpa) and I are putting him in the best stand so he has a very good chance of getting one opening morning, the first Saturday in November. We will use a pickup and trailer to get the deer home.

Strap the bow case to your luggage rack. Straps are best, not bungee cords.
If you are hunting: Put bike on center stand, bungee bow case on luggage rack, STRAP climbing stand on top of bow case to LUGGAGE RACK, then bungee back pack to stand. When you get a deer, put the deer on top of the bow case, turn the stand upside down and run the cables around the deer, tie everything down as before. Now, you need to be a good, solid man to do this alone, much easier with a friend along. I have pics, but they are to large for this site, email me and I will send them.

Thanks uglyduck... I though about strapping it too this way but I wondered about the vibrations (not strapping tight enought) and about the clearance on the side.
Where I am comuting you often (always!) have to slalom between cars and scooters... Red lights at rush hours looks more like 1 line racing starting line :P.
