Strom lovers from Wales come to California!

Hi - my Partner and me want to orgainse a Strom tour vacation in California next year. I'd love some ideas on the following

a) can you recommend somewhere where we can reliably hire a couple of V Stroms for 2 weeks 1000s or Wees?

b) are there "must see" rides that you'd recommend that we MUSN'T miss!

c) are there any planned V Strom events / ride outs that we could join up with and what would the dates be?

I know that's alot of questions but would love your ideas. Also, if any of you are planning a trip to UK, let me know and we will take you out across the amazing North Wales.

If you must rent, you may want to consider another bike.

Harley Rentals are what the tourists want here. Some BMWs too. Sportbike rentals are typically $100 - $200 per day, some with mileage restrictions. Weekly rentals without mileage restrictions will run you cheaper, perhaps $575 - $800. Problem is I can find no V-Stroms.

If you were coming out for a month or six-weeks I would recommend that you arrange for a purchase, then sell it when you leave (or leave it behind with a Strommer here to list it for you.)

There was a couple a few years ago from Brazil that bought a new one in Phoenix, then left it with a relative to sell 6 weeks later. They made out cheaper than a rental, plus got the bike they wanted.

Come out next June, plan vacation around Reno V-strom rally. I know you can rent Honda ST 1300's in Reno I doubt stroms though. Do the rally, last year about 200 showed up, the go over the Sierra's and vist Yosemite, and maybe Big Sur on the coast. Check out other V-strom site later for dates.
