I have 1" Dirtly risers and Pro-Tapper high SE bars cut off at the "4" mark mounted on my K7 Wee. I needed just a bit more length on the brake line and switch wiring. This is my fix.

I used wire ties that have a tab on the end with a hole. Removed the line and wire bundles from the stock guides then looped the wire tie hole onto the stock guides and used the tie to secure the bundles and brake line. This gave me maybe an inch or so more free play while keep everything safe and secure. It's an easy fix and can be easily returned to stock.

Looks ok to me. I did some similar re-engineering after putting different bars on my VEE.

Hi BadKarmaPa,

I will need more brake line lenght also to put in my risers. The brake lines dont need to be held by those stock guides????? I havnt looked real hard at it but since the guides look somewhat serious I was afraid the brake line had to be held by those.

So, this is ok to do????/

How did you get them out of the guides, unbend the curly guide????

I am at work now with car so cant go look.

Thanks, Riz

The top brake line guide shown in the picture has an 8mm bolt that holds it on. I removed the bolt to take the line out of the guide then re-installed it. This is only a guide to keep the line from flopping around.

If you follow the line down you will see were it is in a clamp, that maintains the proper length between the bottom triple clamp and the brake line mount on the forks. This distance should not be shortened. You need the slack between these 2 points so that the suspention can work without stretching or breaking the brake line

I did the same thing to my cables when I installed my riser, didn't think of using cable ties to secure it though, I will add those directly. I use the empty cable holder to mount my power outlet in. Used hot glue to secure it, looks good from the top.

I just installed my SW Motech barback risers. The accelerator cables and the clutch line are a little tight when I turn the handlebars to the right all the way. They are loose when riding straight or making a moderate turn. I took it to the dealer to have them check it and the told me that it looks OK. Somehow I am not convinced. The questions here is, do these cables and lines need to have play, even when the handlebar is completely turned; considering that the handle bars are only in that position from time to time, when parking or on low speed maneuvers?

No they are fine. Mine are like that after installing Pro Taper SE highbend bars. They are a little tight at full turn but nothing to worry about.
