Is the FZ1 the most likely to replace the Vee? Is the FJR poised to smoke the Concours?

I like the FJR. I suspect I'll buy one some day.

I don't think that there is a yamaha in my foreseeable future. Now Kawasaki, maybe, nut no Yamaha. Each to his own.
The most likely replacement for the Vee is the 1250 Bandit. Just my $.02 worth.

I find the WR's very interesting.

The regular dual sport "R" version is obvious a counter to the fairly popular KLX250, but I think the Yamaha is quite a bit more money .

I fear they "X" super moto version is the answer to a question no one is asking.

650 and 400 supermotos have not been selling that great.
I cant see someone spending that much for a 250cc version.

I wish I was proportioned normally enough to fit on an R6! That looks like a lot of fun.

Yamaha has the TDM 900 as a contender. However, European mag reports decry its poor gas mileage.

Read the current MCN. FJR, ST, Connie 14 shootout. FJR came out on top. Its just a better all 'round bike.

All I see is crotch rockets and dirt bikes. Where is Yamaha's real adventure bikes?

Better off with your Vstrom, I ride regular with a guy who has one and in the normal riding envelope between 30 and 70 mph, he has trouble keeping up with me on the 650V. I'm just as fast or faster in the twisties and until 70 faster on the straits. He catchs up on the straits just at 80 but by then we're slowing back down. Handling of the FZ6 is quicker in the corners but not enough faster to make a real difference. Fact is when we ocassionaly switch bikes I'm faster in the twisties on his FZ6 than he is but he's faster on my Vstom than on his own FZ6.

At higher speeds the FZ6 is probably a better bike but in real world speeds the superior mid range torque of the Vstrom makes for a better bike.

That said the FZ6 is a hoot to ride and unlike the Vstrom it does great stoppies. We've considered trading but I'm not willing to give up my 19" front wheel and knobbies.
