Pro-Tapper ATV SE high bars

First I reduced the diameter of the stock nuts by threading them both on one screw and putting them in a drill. Then used a file to turn them down untill they fit in the bars.

Here's the finished diameter.

I used the 5/16 fuel line in place of all the stock rubber and spacers. I found I had to use a razor knife like a pairing knife to reduce the diameter of the fuel line. Probably different manufacturers have slightly different outside diameters. Everything pre-fitted and worked well. With the bars at their full width.

And now.......for the REST of the story.

Because I also have 1" risers I had to slide controls in to the "4" mark in order for the wires and brake line to reach properly. Once I saw that the OEM weights easly adapted to the pro-Tappers I went ahead and cut the bars off at the "4" line. The stock nuts would now only go 1 1/2"" into the bar. It seems the bars inside diameter gets smaller. Uhoh.
I just happen to have a couple 1/4-20 flathead screws lying around that were long enough. I used regular hex nuts and a shorter piece of fuel line. It worked.
