Basically, I think the USA likes HDs and fake HDs.

I like the Trans Alp, too but evidently trying to sell the BMW crowd on more for less is not a big number so the Japanese companies sell sport bikes and fake HDs and that's about it in the USA.

I like the look of the Varadero. The front end looks like it wants to eat something. If realeased in the US, i think it would suffer the same problems as the Strom, though. These bikes are built with function instead of form in mind, which doesn't seem to be desireable to the majority of buyers in the US. I'm not saying they are ugly, but they are meant to be used, to get dirty, not just to be looked at and make noise.

I saw a few of those down in Argentina this summer. They're quite an impressive looking bike. Saw a few Transalps as well, but not a single Strom. Nor did I see a single BMW.

I don't think Honda really cares about what the US market wants anymore. As long as they can sell ATVs, the Gold Wing, and one of 18,562 versions of its VTX cruiser line they are happy. :(
