I met up with K6OST for lunch in Palmdale after riding up ACH/Ageles Forest, had a good lunch, baught a used Helmet and rode back around 2:30. Once I got onto Mt Emma road, I smelled smoke. Once I hot the Mt Emma/Ageles Forest intersection, I could see off in the distance a hillside covered in smoke! This is new, as I did not see it passing by about 1.5 hours before!!!! Its a good distance from the road, but that entire area is a tinderbox. One fire already ate all the brush around Mt Emma! I did not see any water dropping aircraft yet, and nothing on the news yet. I think its still new. I wish the best of luck too the brave fire fighters out there working in this heat.
