I just got done trying to remove the rear turn signals. I just bought the Buell signals, look alot better. Anyways, I got the front on okay, but I am having a heck of a time reaching the back lights nut. I figured I have to take off the rear fender to access it better. I tried this and couldn't get it, am I missing something? I removed the rack and the two little allen wrench bolts on the sides. Is there anything else? Maybe unhook the taillight wiring? If anyone has done this or have any ideas and respond, that would be great.

Remove the black pieces in front of the side pods (plastic with DL650 / DL1000 stickers on them) at the bottom of the tank. One allen-head bolt in the front and then they will pull off. Remove the side pods. One bolt at the front of each and then 3 pop-rivets along the bottom on the left side and 2 on the right side. Since you already have the rack and the two bolts on the sides out, spread the sides of the fender out to get it over the bushings that the bolts go into. It should then pivot up. There is an electrical connector on the left side that has all of the tail wiring going into it. There is a latch on the side that has to be released to pull the connector apart. Sounds worse than it is, only takes a few minutes.

I went out and tried it again one more time after posting and got it. It was caught on the notches where you screw in the rack. It just didnt budge.
Thanks for replying
