I have never seen these in person and want to make sure I understand what I'm getting.

If I purchase this rack setup will I be able to fit my own boxes to them and be able to easily take them off. Like, when I go to take to boxes off, do they just come off by using a quater or somthing similar.

I intend to use military ammo boxes. If I decide that I dont like those very much, I figured can upgrade to better luggage and get the appropriate adapter kit.

so, other than the nuts and bolts I can get at the hardware store, are there any other things I need to purchase?

Thanks!

That's all. You have the concept accurately.

I have those SW racks and like them a lot but...

It can be a little misleading to think they come with the keyed locks. They do not. The quick-lock refers to the half-turn bolts that allow you to easily remove the racks. The key lockable quick-locks are worthwhile accessory and make the racks quite secure.

For some people mounting them on the bike has presented a few problems with the spacers that go under the stock tail rack. There is a thread here somewhere that addresses that though.

They are quite robust and you can attach just about any side case you can imagine to them. There are holes in the racks that will allow quite a variety of bolt patterns for custom cases or adapter kits from Givi and others.

I currently have Nelson-Rigg SB900 soft cases on mine but am looking into custom hard cases of some sort for next year.
