Hey bunch....I just ordered three E45NJ's and the Givi Side and Top Case mounts for my Wee.

The wife and I are leaving in two weeks for a trip up to Rocky Mountain National Park and I wanted plenty of room for her stuff.....to keep her happy.

Once I get the cases, I will post on how they look, how they mount and how they get down the highway with the Wee.

Also, once back from the trip (probably about 750 miles), I will comment on how the Wee did with 2-Up and how the new cases did.

Stay posted......

I am very excited!!!!!!

I've got the 45 l side cases. They'll drop your mileage by a few mpg's. Very sturdy, I've dropped my bike on them a couple of times (slowly) and just scuffed the bottom.

Too funny! I have the E21 side cases but quickly discovered that they aren't near big enough when my wife rides with me, so I had to get some E41's as well (darn, ain't it great when you can blame a farkle purchase on your SO? Hee hee!) Anyway, they hold quite a lot and the Mrs. was still able to get on and off the bike without too much hassle (it's a matter of practice, really).

Have a great trip! Takes lots of pics!

This is similar to what they'll look like all mounted up. These are our pair loaded up and ready for our western vacation last month. My wife's is the blue one.

I like aps have fallen over on my Wee with the E21 side cases and slightly scuffed them but they held up great.

GIVI is a great product and I have enjoyed them very much!:)

I received the Givi side mounts today (specific for the 650) and spent about 2 hours getting them on. That was a chore!!!! It seemed that every bolt hole was 1/2 and inch off. Thank goodness I had my two, teenage sons to help me push, pull and pry to get the bolts to line up and catch thread.

Honestly, it would probably have been worth the $50 to have the dealer mount them.

Anyway, they are on the bike and they look great. They are very sturdy and well built.

Cases are to be delivered middle of next week......just in time for the trip.

I will continue to keep you posted.

One quick note on installation:

When the instructions say to leave the bolts loose, they mean REALLY loose. Only thread the bolts in a couple of turns. The two bolts that hold the tail piece of the brackets to the side pieces of the brackets are impossible to get in if you can't flop the whole assembly around.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Givi. Excellent quality, but a PITA to install. I have the carshbars, sidecase racks, and topcase mount, and nothing lined up straight, but neither has broken or fallen off either.

This pic is of my 'homemade" back rest. Basically it was 2" and 3" foam and marine quality vinyl.....a little Super Glue and Velcro....total price...about $10. The wife has already had a ride and she says that it is totally comfy.

First 'test' road trip with the cases.

Before heading out with the wife this weekend, I took the day off and had a little 175 mile ride up around Pikes Peak. Here are a couple of pics. By the way, the bags held up perfectly...as expected.

Last month, I came off my Wee, as the result of a 95kph tank slapper, while on the Oodnadatta Track in outback Oz. My helmet took a beating, and I was lucky enough to come away without breaking myself. Bike was unridable from that point....
The bike is getting fixed, at over AU$4,000 for the bike damage. (It doesn't include accessories....)

Anyway, I had wondered many many times, if this was to ever happen, would my GIVI's stand up to it.

YES. They were excellent. The right hand side one took BIG Damage, and looks like a cheese grater has attacked it. But the box, a GIVI E360N, not only supported that end of the bike, but also was still able to be opened and closed, and the seal, still kept the dust out.

The GIVI frame bent less than 1/2 an inch.

Each side was loaded with 12kg. About 25 pounds I guess.

I cam off after a big patch of sand got longer, deeper, and then full of rocks as it changed into the "raod/track" again. No joking, the bike and I slid along through the rocks, many the size of a baseball cap on the ground.

I would reccomend GIVI luggage no worries.

One thing I think I have noticed, is that when I have the box's on, the front end gets "lighter" once I go over about 120kph. So I don't exceed that, unless overtaking.

Happy travels, and I look forward to your photo's and trip report.

Cheers
Chris

All I can say is AWESOME!!!!!!

I love my wife dearly and without question or comparison, she is my best friend. I want to do everything with her. Well, up to this point, I just couldn't get her excited about a motocycle at all. Mainly, she was just beat up and miserable on my Cruiser. She could handle a 30 minute ride...but that was about it.

Since I purchased the Wee and the Givi Cases......life is wonderful. Today, my gal and I went on a 200 mile, 5 hour ride up in the Colorado, Rocky Mountains. She was thrilled and had a blast. She said that it was night and day compared to my previous bike. I am a very happy camper.

Mainly, the E45 top case made the most difference, giving her back support and reassurance that she wouldn't fall off the back. The side cases just allowed us to.....ATGATT.

I am sure that most would agree that the E45 are too wide for side cases, but I wouldn't change a thing. I love the extra storage. Here are some pics....

I went down to the craft store...bought some foam, vinyl and Velcro and build these myself. (couldn't bring myself to pay the $70 for the Givi pad)
