Couldn't help but reply... I have a 06 KTM 300 xcw and an 07 650 Strom. I rarely see other Strom's on the road so I surmise there are not many of us in these parts. I generally ride solo 'cause I don't know many other street riders.

There are a few of us out here. 5 of us got together & rode to Glen Rose Sunday & 3 of us are from the D/FW area. I work just north of Keller, in Roanoke.

Get on TWT. There are a lot of stroms out here. At any of the tuesday dinners there are usually 4-6.

I am in Temple, TX, just North of Austin about 70 miles. I have a 2007 gray DL650. This bike is going to be an all-purpose touring machine. I don't know of any other Stroms around Temple, mostly just the cruisers and sportbikes.

Last month's Pie Run on TWT had 7-8 'Stroms show up.
The destination was in Ponder - west of Denton.

We're around, just not always in the same place...

I live in Arlington and have had my DL1000 for almost a year now. During that time I have only seen one other Strom on the road. When I went to the DFW International Bike show a couple of weeks ago, I did see 3 or 4 parked there.

I live in Arlington and have had my DL1000 for almost a year now.

There are several around - I saw a red 650 last week on 303 in a turn lane but he turned before I could get in his line of sight. I know of two silver 1000s around Arlington, too. There is a 650 that lives in Mansfield but works near 6 Flags.

Our Tarrant County TWT group meets on Tuesday nights at a different spot each week - check here (http://www.twtex.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=78) for the next 2 (12/4 and 12/11). We also do ice cream (and burgers) at Burger Box in NRH on Friday nights - see here (http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18368).

We can always use more 'Stroms to join and razz the KLR guys...

Welcome hfd - you just missed a BBQ ride last Saturday down to Glen Rose. There were 14 V-Stroms and 15 other bikes. You need to join our TWT Tarrant County group on Tuesday and Friday nights - we'll be at Freebirds near Hulen Mall on 3/11 - hey that's today!

I'm in NRH, have a V-Strom riding buddy in Hust and in Southlake, we all have DL-650's and KLR 650's. Do the TwoWheeledTexan thing, that's where all the local action is.

That is so true for this weekend... I got the crap beat out of me all weekend on my WR. Tossed down rock piles, crashed head first into a cedar tree, and somehow landed the bike upside down on it's bars and seat. Needless to say, I'm hurting today so it looks like it's going to be one of those "sit at my desk" days...

New purchase for the Garland area... purchased from Tampa Bay and rode up a couple of weeks ago. Heading up to AR over Memorial Day so we'll see how she compares to the Valkyrie.

Live in Keller, work in Southlake. I saw a Vstrom going down Southlake blvd a couple of weeks ago and almost peed my pants. First I'd seen one (other than once in London for a split second) on the road.

I've had my new 2008 DL1000 for about two weeks now. Trying to get the "new" off of it, but the blasted rain in August is getting in my way. You'll see me M-F commuting between Carrollton and Richardson to work.

North Garland here. Just bought an 08 flat black Wee. Was riding a red 05 Wee (which is listed in the for sale area). Recreational rider mostly. Usually can be seen riding in Lucas, Fairview, Lake Lavon and Wylie area. Did the recent Pie Run in Celina which was sponsored by Two Wheeled Texans (twtex.com). Great ride from my house! Even the chip sealed roads in Celina didn't annoy me too much. Will be at the Marble Falls Pie Run August 30th. Check out twtex.com for more info.

Stopped by to visit Warhammer in Saginaw/FtWorth, get acquainted, talk bikes, and eat BBQ. Wish we lived closer for riding purposes, but this is a great strommer and all-round good guy I was priveldeged to spend an hour with. Also, checked out his olive drab paint project on his DL1000. He has NAILED the olive drab color and I look forward to seeing more posts -- especially the finished bike!

Reason for meeting was his offer on a set of eggshells (front turn signals). Thanks for the parts and hope we'll cross paths again!

It has been huh? :) I prolly had the black R1100S at the time. I've run through a XR650L, XR650R, ST1300, and a KLR650 since then. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid now, that's for sure. These Vstrom thingies are as close to a Swiss Army knife as I've ever rode...:D

Once the weather cools a bit, I'll be back out riding more. Prolly see you at a Pie Run I'm sure... :D
