Okay,
Of course there is a situmation.
I originally planned the event for the first weekend of October. I have been asked to reschedule it by a member of a group that is hosting a ride in Ohio that same weekend. The majority of the people that attended last year seem to favor the first weekend.
I have thought about doing the ride the last weekend of September so there isn't a conflict.
My goal for this years event was to host it out of McCormicks Creek State Park in Spencer, IN instead of my place. Well, I stopped by there Sunday a.m. to inquire about lodging. When I noted the two weekends, the clerk gave me the "are you nuts" look. I forgot the obvious. There isn't a hotel with open rooms anywhere to be found on a fall weekend in Southern Indiana.
Of course, camping will be available at my house, which is like a mini-park and is in the middle of nowhere. There are hotels available (nice and budget (still nice) in Terre Haute which is 30 minutes from my place.
So here is what I need from you.
If you are planning on attending this fantastic, relaxed, somewhat organized no-cost event, post a "vote" in the poll below.
The basics are as follows:
Location: Clay City, IN which is between Terre Haute and Bloomington.
Friday evening-anyone who is camping at my place can arrive. We may run into Clay City that evening for dinner. Fourvalve will invade the hot-tub.
Saturday. Street ride "Wave to Cows Run" The best paved (some light gravel, but very minimal) roads in Southern Indiana. Pretty much all day, cookout at my place that evening. Coyote howel to follow.
Sunday: "Howboucha Hundred" big bike "dual sport" ride. Set up for all skill levels and okay for 2-up or "newbies".

I really wish I could make it, but if I leave my fiance standing at the altar to go ride and hang out there she would probably put a hit out on me. I already put my foot down and told here I'm going to the first get together we have next year.
I will need the last week of September for the 1 year anniversary of a life long commitment to the most wonderful woman on the whole of God's creation..

I'm there and I'll bring you a DVD of the offroad ride from the Tellico Plains rally.
If there is any need I have additional camping room 45 minutes north. But if I remember correctly you have plenty of land.

I can hardly wait. Bikes, beers, and back roads- manly entertainment at it's best. Hope to be camping at your palatial estate Brendan. What are the laws regarding fireworks like in Indiana and do you need a license for dynamite? Also, can you tell me what is the legal age of consent and is public nudity a problem? Never hurts to know these things.

I'm still in the planning stages of a week long trip to SC to see family at the end of Sept., so I'm not sure what's going to be going on then. I'd like to think that the first weekend in Oct would be the best possibility if I can get the dogs borded. So for now I'm a maybe;)

You KNOW that I am as good as there!!!!! I voted for the last weekend of Sept, but I don't give a rats butt! I reckon I'll camp this year, but damn that bed was cozy. I'll be sure to bring some Gentlemen Jack since Spongebob is puddywhipped, and some barf bags for those who may need them. I'll bring my wounded rabbit call so we can attract some "actual" coyotes to shoot at. And.....I am going to get in the hotub this time. Steve, I have an extra tent that you are welcome to use so don't feel the need to go out and buy one. LETS HAVE A HUGE SHOWING THIS YEAR.
Gonna be a great time!!!
Brian
I'm there - doesn't matter when.

I would love to make this event, but alas I am using up all of my bike trip favors soon. Already went North once on the Beemer and now heading that way again on the Strom. Can't have too much fun or somebody gets very jealous and upset. Gonna have to pass this year, but I'll put in on the calendar for next year. Great idea, BTW. Have a great time.

Okay, about the palatial thing. 1200 sq ft isn't that big. But I have one hell of a yard. Maybe my "barn" will be cleaned up enough so that peeps can stay in it if they want.
Fireworks? How high and how loud? Nevermind, no rules at my place.
As I recall we told you the stories about the guns. If not, seems as if alcohol and guns do mix on Saturday nights around the camp fire. Plenty of room to shoot safely so bring what you want.
Public nudity is encouraged. Usually happens to me when I get a bit too much Makers Mark in the old system.
And I have one sweet "TV" if you have any special movies to bring?
Okay, I hope I haven't scared everyone. Basically, anyone can do whatever they want at my place as long as you don't piss of my wife (or make her upset) As for the others, well.........

Bummer. I think I will just make it a standard first week of October.
BTW, looks like I will be back in FL for the womens Final Four in 2008. I think it is in the Tampa area. I miss you florida troopers. :(

We can, but it is a boring ride to get there and all you can see is the gate and part of the roof. His wife used to drive a Rover like mine. We would wave to each other when we met on the roads in Bloomington. (I am so cool)
Mellencamp rides too, maybe he can come along. I have a friend that has a friend that knows his cousin that used to dog sit for Mellencamps drummer, I will give him a call. ;)

Sounds intriqueing. Don't know if I can make it this year as I'm a new hire at the plant where I work and have no vacation time yet. Plus I work third shift so my weekend starts 7:00am Friday. All day ride from where I am 65 miles south of Buffalo NY down by the PA line. Know right where it is, though, as I used to live in St. Louis and make that drive on the I-70 frequently to visit the family in WNY. Ya never know. As the time approaches and I get antsy for a good ride and whoop up I may just decide to call in sick and jump on the bike. Will most likely camp out at VStrom Central if I come. Can't fit the Enfield or Winchester on the bike so I will be unarmed and the coyotes will be safe from me unless somebody lends me a piece. Either weekend works for me and I prefer to travel after Labour Day. I spell it that way 'cause I grew up in Canada, hence the preference for the Enfield #1 Mk III. Last September I rode the recently traded for a WeeStrom Bandit 1200S to Yellowstone and back so I may be due for a good ride. Will let you know for sure as the date approaches.
Warmest felicitations, Jstrom

My brother and I will be there. So count two more for your get together. We will most likely camp. I will be coming from Naperville, IL, 30 miles west of Chicago and my brother will be coming from Indianapolis.
The fishing in the strip mines in the area is known to produce some big lunkers. But if someone is bringing dynomite we could fish with that and have enough fish for a big fry for everyone.:D
I have been to so many rallies in the past, but this one sounds very interesting. What the heck is waving to the cows think?
