Msheron and I have been talking about this and I finally got a route planned:

7:00 AM: Meet for breakfast near the Biltmore Square Mall, I’m thinking the Sunrise Pancake House 1009 Brevard Road (near the Sardis Road intersection). Suggestions are always welcome. There’s the usual array of fast food places in the area.

7:45 - 8:00 AM: we meet in the Biltmore Square parking lot Facing HWY 191 (Haywood Road/Brevard Road) Exit 33 off I-26.

South on Hwy 191 to

Pole Creasman Road which becomes FR 479, passes under the Blue Ridge Parkway and ends at FR 1206 in the North Mills River Recreational Area

FR 1206 to Hwy 276

Hwy 276 briefly to FR477

Hwy 276 up to Looking Glass Falls for a stretch and Photo Op.

Hwy 276 to FR475 (we were on this last week)

FR475 to FR491 which becomes Cathey’s Creek Road

Then Hwy 64 to Walnut Hollow to Island Ford Road to East Fork Road.

We’ll be quite a ways down HWY276 at this point.

We'll Take Hwy276 to Reasonover Road to Green River Road to Hwy25

Then Hwy 25 Briefly to Hwy225 Briefly to Pinnacle Mountain Road.

Pinnacle Mt Road is partially Paved and Unpaved with a two mile section currently being widened and covered in fairly loose, fresh gravel.

We’ll come out on Sky Valley Road which we’ll take to Dupont Road, to see some more waterfalls.

Then well get on Cascade Lake Road into Brevard for a Late Lunch (Poppies is Having a Burgers, Brats and Blues event on the Patio 1:00-4:00 PM).

This ride has some fairly scenic stretches and some waterfalls that require a brief stroll. It should last into the middle of the afternoon.

All are welcome.

Norm, Sounds like you have worked out a great ride for tomorrow. Not sure if I can make this one or not. My daughter is up with my granddaughter and her husband from Greenville and might still be in tomorrow. If not, I will probably try to make this ride. If so, I'll have to meet ya'll at 8:00 AM because it's a 2 hour ride from Hayesville. Thanks again for you efforts and enjoy the throttle and fellowship......Mark

NCHB, I hope you can make it, you'll be missed if you can't.

Funny, you don't ride like a Grandpa

Sunrise Pancake House???

Norm, where is this? Mike Garrett and I have been racking our brains as much as we are on this side of town and we have never noticed it. I know where the Stone Ridge Tavern is at the corner of 191 and Sardis but never even seen the Sunrise Pancake House.......

Norm.................how bout the Moose Cafe up on Brevard Rd. (191) at I-40. Great country breakfast and good prices. Just let me know so we can let everyone else know.

It is about 1 mile or so east of Sardis and 191.

Well another adventure ride has come and gone. I have to hand it to Norm who planned the day and the eating spots!

We met at 7 a.m. at Moose Cafe and for those who have never been there it is country cooooooking all the way!:-D Mike D., Norman H., David C., and myself were present. Mike G. got the coffee jitters and stopped at the Waffle House to supress his addiction!

We then met at the Biltmore Square Mall at 8 a.m. to meet up with the the ride crew. Unfortunately we had only five riders total.

Norm really picked a great route and we rode until around 12:45 p.m. then went to get lunch at Jason's in Brevard. After a nice lunch David, and Mike G. broke off. Mike D. broke off before lunch.

Norm and I rode if I remember Green River Rd. then accessed Hwy. 25 to go to Pinnacle Mtn. Road. Here is where I had a little trouble with the soft powder like dirt and lose gravel.

I got stuck going up a incline and just bogged down. I took the inside of the road when I should have taken the outside. :( Oh well, you live you learn!

No problem, Norman was there to pull me out! Thank goodness he did not keep going because trying to get my footing was a bitch also.

After crossing Pinnacle Mtn. we rode to Norm's house then I parted ways.

I have to hand it to Norm for picking a nice route. Mark has a rival for planning routes.

Can't wait to see some pics. Norm.
