Well-I can't make it next weekend. But, I had a few days off, so I went down THIS weekend... Cherohala Motorcycle resort is a GREAT place!!! Mark & Renee are very gracious hosts (and Mark's Aprillia is to die for!). They gave me directions to a number of Forest Service roads, which, if I'd kept to their directions, it would have been fine. However... I decided that I wanted a longer ride, so then went straight when I shoulda turned left... And spent the next 3 hours wandering on those roads, some with evil, loose, medium/large gravel that had recently been put down. Didn't dump it, but think crawling along in first gear. For 10 miles or so... The GPS got me back to where I wanted to be. The paved roads in the area are motorcycle heaven!
The cabins are a wonderful thing! Air conditioning on a 92 degree humid day/evening is worth the price.
Ok-I'll come clean... I got the weekends wrong. But had a GREAT time anyway, though I'm going to miss seeing you all, damnit!!!

Sounds like you found NFSR 77 and 82. Those were being gratted and new gravel put down. Graywolf and I were hitting those around 15-20 MPH. Talk about a workout! Wore me out to no end. Not to mention we didn't have any maps or a GPS.
Seems like everything Graywolf and I do becomes an adventure and an ordeal.

I work with the owner... he told me about you coming down a week early by mistake. He was upset that it happened but hoped you would come again soon.
