Since theres interest in doing a large photo ride lets start brainstorming on locations (up in NH VT or possibly ME). Im thinking mid August for a date so theres time to set everything up.

Let me know if your interested and places that would be good for us to check out.

Consider me in. BUT, I suggest a sooner ride date. Your idea od pushing it out in order to plan is good, but in practice the best pics come by spontaneity. That said, I'd rather have 4 tries vs 1, ya know? I also think a concerted effort to take pics in a group could produce some nice results.

PS: I had Maine to ride all weekend and didn't snap so much as one pic . My plans got a bit changed around and what not, and what ride time I had I didn't want to stop for pics. I did see a few really nice ones I regret not taking. *sigh*

Id have no problem going sooner, if we can get a handfull of people who want to do this then sometime in july we can just run on up. Im planning on going with all my camera gear up north once or twice a week so just let me know.

Sounds good. A photo trip could easily be put together, even for an afternoon/evening thing. I'm guessing the NE group here could come up with some nice shot locations that'd be within a 2-2.5 hour ride for you. We could wake jackpiner57 from under the tree he's napping and get him to show us a nice route (that slacker :p).

Good idea, BloatedBird!

That date might work for me. I won't know until shortly before that date.

http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=226&catalogId=40000000226&langId=-1 seems to have good prices. If you buy a tent, go with a Eureka. The price seems really low (junk?) but they're actually a great value.

Sounds awesome! I may even have my valves done by then. Gotta buy a bigger hammer first.

How'd the day in Burlington go, Tom? The wind was absolute hell in Maine.
Anyway, you know that route you took us Stromtroopers on last August? About an hour or so into it we passed some area that had some beautiful views (lush and green). One view overlooked a pond/lake that sat right at the base of a mountain/hill; we came at it from the south and rounded a part of its western edge before continuing down the valley. Ring a bell? I think that route would have some great early morning picture opportunities.

BloatedBird - I really like this idea! (in case you hadn't noticed). Let me know if I'm getting off course here from what you were thinking. I honestly can't count how many areas I've ridden with these guys that I thought would make an incredible pic or two, but the pace was fast (which I also love :p) and there wasn't always a chance to stop for that pic.

Everything sounds good, Im going to go in and check out prices for a top case and tent tommorow. Do you guys know of any cases that lock and use the stock rear rack or will I need to replace it?

After that I should have the wee good to go for on road areas and good dirt roads (the crashbars and skidplate will probably come soon but not by the 6th) and the 6th-8th will work.

VtStrom where in NH were you thinking of meeting up?

It turns out after sending my body to nikon to clean the sensor....it has more dirt so another 2 weeks without a camera for me when I give it to them; so I was wondering whats the intrest for the 6th-8th ride? If theres not much Im going to send it off tommorow and have the camera back around the 13th-16th.
