Group ride Sat. 6-30-07

OK as promised, I'm planning on leading another group ride on Saturday June 30th with a rain date of Saturday July 7th.

Meet at the McDonald's on 10/202 in Southwick, MA before 9am and leaving at least by 9:15. The McDonald's is 2.3 miles south of the center of Southwick at the intersection of route 168. It's on the northeast corner of the intersection.

I have most of the route layed out but still need to pick a lunch spot. I'll post more info as I get it nailed down but it'll run across northwest CT and then loop back thru western MA.

It won't be quite as structured as the Stromette ride was but hopefully I can show you some cool backroads I've found.

What's a rain date??? That's the date for all the OTHER riders that are afraid of getting their bike wet. SOME of us ride in most rideable weather. Hurricanes, tornados and winter blizzards keep my bike in the garage though <G>.

Nope, won't post it but will email you a Streets and Trips copy though if you or anyone else wants. Once I actually get the route layed out that is. I'll be going out this Friday or Saturday to determine where a good spot for a lunch break would be. Possibly Winsted, Torrington or Cannan. Speak up if you all know of a decent place. If anyone wants to go on the scouting mission with me, which will be quite spirited, give me a shout.

Looks like Ill have the bike soon enough, my only concern is what the pace of the ride is going to be like since Ill still be breaking in the motor.

Scouted the route today and found a lunch spot in Cannan, CT. A few "adventure roads" in there, not dirt but pretty rural.

Seeing how this date isn't good for a lot of you, how about if I change the date to July 7th or 14th. Work better for anyone?
It'll give BloatedBird a chance to break in his new Mini-V .

Don't change the date. There are too may other ride dates in July that haven't been glued down yet, both here and in other groups.

I don't know if I'm up for this tomorrow or not--depends on what time the Brown Truck arrives. If I've got the bike together and rideable tonight then I'm up for the 30th if that's still the day.
