Hi Everyone,
Ithacabound and I have a last-minute trip planned for NorthEast, CT.
Maybe next time, Bruce. I'm gonna tackle new front fork springs tomorrow, but I'll admit I reconsidered it for a bit after reading your message...

60 Things worth shortening your life for.
44-48. The Five Most Decadent Burgers in the United States of America:
44. The cheeseburger at Shady Glen Dairy Stores in Manchester, Connecticut.
Four carefully arranged pieces of cheese extending far beyond the border of the patty melt directly on the grill, creating a chewy crust that is as difficult to describe as it is to digest. $4.95.
There's always a rainy day for forkwork...<g>

There's another place in NE CT some non-Vstrom friends like to visit as a riding destination. The Vanilla Bean Cafe -- http://www.thevanillabeancafe.com/index1.htm
I've had these fork springs since January, and traded in the old Vstrom before they got installed. No indoor place to work on bikes here. The ole lady won't let me bring them in the house.
I'm heading for NH in the morning to visit another riding buddy who's only got disassembled bikes at the moment. Hopefully we can disassemble mine and get it back together as well.

Ahh well, I should have gone with you guys. Made it up to NH and forgot to bring the fork oil. At least I got the pvc spacers cut.
Damn there are a lot of Harley's up there, so much for individualism! Last weekend of bike week at Laconia.

No worries, we'll go again.
This ride had an added bonus of being my annual unplanned bike wash on the way home.
I heard clicking behind me, I'm sure there will be pictures somewhere.
Yes, I though NH would be a busy place this weekend.

Scooted out the door this morning and made it to the meet spot OK to meet up with a couple CT Strommers. For not really having a route layed out, Ithakabound did a super job of finding some good biking roads. Connecticut seems to only be urban along the coast and around Hartford. The East and West parts are motorcycle friendly.
Vanilla Bean Cafe was alright except for the $10.50 for a plain hamburg and a lemonade (ouch).
Did you guys notice the dead racoon in the road waving to us? <G> And right after that was Coon Street. Had to chuckle.
Man, it got blacker and blacker and I thought for sure I'd get soaked but I only got slightly rained on and a wet road for a couple miles. Made it home dry after 170 miles of sweet riding. The weather was absolutely terriffic and the 2 guys put me in the cradle where I could look around and enjoy the scenery.
Thanks again and I hope to lead a ride for you guys sometime.

Kind of like a Volkswagen Beetle Convention in Germany circa 1969! Or a Model T Ford rally in New York City circa 1926. Any color you like, as long as it's black!
Harley = Volksmotorrad.
Nice ride report Bruce! Hope to ride with you sometime soon. - Tom
