How's US 2 though WA (vs. I-90). I'm headding to Seattle in July sometime, and I'd rather not use boring roads.

You don't say where you are starting from - ? I am only familiar with US 2 as far east as about Wenatchee. You won't be bored. You'll be too busy dodging codgers in Dodges who dodge over the center line. Seriously, it's a great highway, but lots of accidents due to only two lanes and sort of narrow in spots and LOTS of vacationers use it, motorhomes, RV's, etc. Also lots of motorcyclists. You may want to stop for a monent in Leavenworth, a phoney Bavarian-themed tourist trap, but interesting nevertheless. Coming over Stevens Pass is interesting also. Downside is that once yopu cross the pass, you are entering the north Seattle urban corridor at the north end and if you head south, you have to deal with either !-5 or worse yet, I-405, so you may get jammed up. But that's the big city for ya. Enjoy the ride.

The most interesting motorcycle road across Washington is Highway 20 - Very scenic, very twisty all across the state!. Highway 2 is another good bike road - especially the western side. US-12 (especially if you start in Missoula) is another great road - Lolo Pass in Idaho is a beautiful 200 mile trip along side a few rivers and the western end through the Mt Rainier/Mt St Helens area is great as well. Then there is the souther route through the Columbia River Gorge
Enjoy your trip

Hwy 12 gets my vote. From Natches west along the Tieton river is spectacular. Turn north at Morton onto 7 and avoid the boring western section.
Hwy 20 is gorgeous but heavily patroled on the western side. It's worth the extra vigilance tho.
I echo what K1200LT says about hwy 2. Seems like every lousy driver from Seattle is on that road.

I'm starting in Montana, so I get to use the whole road! This is sounding really good, thanks for all the help.

you might come into Idaho at St. Regis and ride through the the St. Joe river country, when you get to St. Maries head north to I-90 then catch hiway 2 upto hiway 20 out of Spokane. Not the quickest route, but would be better than slabin I-90 all the way. Give a shout if your in the neighborhood!
