You will need to tilt the tank for the rear plug and move the radiator up to get to the front. The plugs are pretty deep in the head so you will need to use a short extension. It was a bit of a pain getting to the front, skinned knuckles and all. Other than that it was pretty easy.

Does the Strom have a tank prop like the SV does? The SV has a tank prop that allows you to prop the tank up to do maintenance. It pivots from the rear. The prop goes into one of the nut holes in the tank and the other ends goes into the top steering nut.

Yes it does. It is on the bolt that holds the rear of the tank down.

A heavy dose of patience will help on the front plug. Stromette needed to tilt the radiator and disconect upper left hose even then it was a very tight space.

I just finished the plugs/Air filter/oil change spring tune-up. The big stromm definitely needed a new air filter! Yuck! All them bugs and crap in there!

As far as the plugs go, I removed the tank completely. I needed help once I had it tilted up to remove the long bolt near the steering head. My wife pulled at it while I lifted the tank to get it to clear. Also, I did not use the spark plug tool that comes with the bike (Mine is crap), but rather a Mastercraft one. Short extensions only. I removed the lower left radiator bolt and pulled the rad forward (Carefully) while removing the front plug. Skinned fingers later, I re-mounted all and found that my rad hoses were loosened and leaked. A quarter turn of each hose clamp and voila!

It simply takes patience and a little help to do the tank lift. Don't forget to reconnect the wire harness for the pump and the fuel hose before lowering the tank! I also recommend removing all the fairing pieces, it makes access that much easier and does not take much time!
