Just picked up my bike from its 7,500mi service at Motosport in Hillsboro. While I was waiting, I started talking with Vint Holtman, one of the salesman. They are having a 650 Strom blowout. They're selling them for $5699! Last year I paid 6500 and that was a good deal. Sale is while supply lasts. If you're shopping, jump on this.

Noticed this week that Portland Motorcycle has at least one 07 DL650 ABS.
I am pretty sure they are asking $7199 for it.

...I bought my '06 used (275mi. LOL! ) last September for $5500.
I felt bad for the guy because he was upside down on the thing. Of course, I only felt bad for about 30 sec. :)

Bummer, the one dealer within 60 miles of my house that I did not check out.
I wound up buying mine from Eugene (I live in Salem). I hope they did not have any ABS models in stock.

I bought the last ABS model Beaverton had (for the year so they tell me) about 2 months ago.

I just bought one from Vint. It was an OK experience. The price doesnt include the $599.00 freight set up. It was still the best deal around.

What do you mean it "was a o.k. experiance". I checked out a 07' strom there on wednesday and talked to Vint. I live in tillamook so this is the closest dealer to me. How was your experiance with the Motosport hillsboro dealership and Vint himself?

Well, I came in to pick mine up and found a one inch scratch on the fairing, that went through the paint exposing the black plastic. When I notified him of that he said, yeah I saw that this morning. Anyhow, after telling him this was not acceptable he started to tell me how it will get scratched anyway yada yada yada. I finally told him that he wouldnt accept a new scratched vehicle, so why would I. Long story short, there was another gray 07 there and I ended up picking that one up the next day. Also, he didnt go over anything about the bike until he saw me trying to figure some things out (after he showed a bike to another customer). I know these guys need to make their $$ in the summertime, but geez give me a little attention, I just bought a new bike. Other than that, I pretty straight forward deal.

When I picked up my 07 ABS at Beaverton H/Y my salesman (Doug) pointed out a very small scratch on the left side fairing. I was so excited to be getting the bike that I might not have enve notice it my self it was so small. He was right on top of it and immediatly set the wheels in motion to get a warranty replacement fairing. It worked out great that the part was ready at the same time the bike was ready for its 600 mile service.
Large high volume dealership, but I am very happy with the level of service I have had there.

I should have added that Vint offered to replace the scratched one from the other bike.

Interesting. I checked with dealers before buying an 05 used (sort-of - 93 miles).
The dealers around Boston didn't have any in stock. The dealer I contacted in Concord, NH quote me list plus delivery plus setup and didn't have one in stock but offered to find one.
There are two DL1000's with less than 1,000 miles for sale for $7200 and $7500 OBO on Craigslist, but no 650's.

Not sure when you spoke with Vint. I delt with him over the phone 2 weeks ago. The lowest he would go was 6450 for an 07 DL650. I got mine at Lamphere's in Beaverton for 6300 from a young sales kid named Josh. Not to bag to much on Vint tho'. He was knowledgable, personable, and easy to work with. He just never mentioned the deal other wise I would have been there in a heart beat.

I pulled the trigger and bought a DL650 from Vint last Friday. I was looking for used but folks want new prices for used bikes so what the hell. Never bought new before. Vint seemed like a good guy, wasn't going to budge on the price. Sellers market for the Weestrom and it is almost July. Would like to know if there is a difference in parts pricing from dealer to dealer, ready to farkle and I'd like to buy a centerstand and handguards. Has anyone noticed one parts counter better than another regarding knowledge and cost?

Thanks for the tip! I bought one yesterday for $5699 + the assembly fee.
I think they still have several left.

When I saw the first post im going thats too good to be true.....and it is, 5699 is UNDER the dealer cost. Mine was just about 6000 even and got her out the door with all fees for 6100, You always have to double check these deals from well in this case "stealers"

One thing I don't understand is why it took Suzuki so stinking long to deliver the ABS model after they announced it in July! I had a deposit on one with PMC about 2 weeks after the announcement and received the first ABS that came in. IN FEBRUARY! :???:
