The last night of my upcoming 7-day solo trip will be in or around Sisters, Oregon. At least that's my ideal location. Can anyone recommend a decent but less-than-$100-a-night motel there?

I don't think you'll find anything in Sisters for less than $100.00. Bend and Redmond have a Super 8. Generally about $75.00.

Okay, that makes sense, and I didn't really plan on being able to find anything cheap in Sisters, so here's the next option ... if I'm going to be spending $100 for the night (or more) I'd like to find somewhere within walking distance of the Deschutes Brewery in downtown Bend. Any suggestions?

Maybe this would suffice. http://www.mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=98

But one thing I've learned over the years I've spent touring on motorcycles: never, ever, ever, ever, stay overnight in a destination resort.
Ever! You become a sheep waiting to be fleeced.
Bend, Redmond, Prineville.
Better bets.

It's a little over $100 a night, and if you have AAA it's right at $100. Nice place. Just north of downtown. About the best you'll do for that price in that area.

I had completely forgotten that McMenamin's had a new place in Bend. Excitedly, I called them. Drats! They're all booked up because of TWO weddings. Bummer, I was looking forward to that kind of splurging on my last night of the trip. Well, time to call the Best Western in Sisters and see what kind of situation that presents.
The Phoenix inn is downtown Bend but again a little more than $100
Fairfield Inn is also downtown
Ameritel is in the Mill District. The new yuppie area of Bend with lots to do in walking distance.

I think most will be over $100 unless you have some kind of discount (AAA)
Where else is your trip taking you??

The cities of my trip, in order of overnight stays are:
1. Coos Bay, Oregon (Motel 6)
2. Eureka, California (Motel 6)
3. Shingletown, California (private residence)
4. Lakeview, Oregon (Lakeview Lodge Motel)
5. Bend, Oregon (Riverhouse Resort)
I'll have a complete ride report written up when I return. :-)
