Time to start planning for the Strom Get-Together East V. It will take place the weekend of 28 April 2005 - 1 May 2005. Primary location will be at the Iron horse Motorcycle Lodge located in Stecoah, NC. Website: http://www.ironhorsenc.com/ This is 24 miles East of Deals Gap just off Highway 28. GPS coordinates: N35 23.358 W83 40.665.

Charlene is holding all rooms for us until the end of March. They have slightly increased their prices since our stay last year, but we get last years prices.

All cabins have four rooms & two baths. Cabin rooms are available with one queen or two double beds. The rooms on the creek side with porch are $65 per night and the non-creek side are $50 per night.

There are also a couple of lodge rooms with private bath at $80 per night. They have double beds.

All rooms are priced for an occupancy of two. Additional persons are $15 per night.

There is also a bunkhouse with five twin beds, includes sheets, blanket, pillow & towels at $18 per night.

RV & trailer sites with water & electricity are $20 per night.

Tent camping is $15 per night. Nice bath house.

New feature, wireless internet and a PC in the Pavilion.

Breakfast and dinner is available. Prices and food good.

There will be group rides Friday & Saturday. Probably several directions each day.

I am planning a special dinner for either Friday or Saturday evening. Frogmore Stew (low country broil). If you don't like fresh Charleston scrimp there will be something else available.

Hope to see a bunch of you there for a good time and the best of riding.

siman00,

It's just a get together, nothing really organized. No fees. If you want cabin space make your reservations, going fast.

Just a reminder for Get-Together lodging. Ironhorse is going to hold the rooms for a few more weeks and then let them go. If you want a room, make a reservation soon.

I'm planning to ride down from the Boston area, maybe make a SS1000 out of it (it's just over 1,000 miles according to my GPS). I've made my reservations at the Ironhourse for the night of the 19th and 20th. Will probably start out early on the 18th, ride as far as I can (hopefully 600 or 700 miles, at least), sleep a few hours, and finish up the morning of the 19th.

Anyone interested in sharing part of the ride, drop me a line.

Just noticed all the other messages in this thread are from 2005 or earlier.

I'm talking about the gathering at the Ironhorse this year, 2006.

The get together for 06 is at the Iron Horse on 18, 19 and 20 May. I am leaving the MS coast on the 17th. I'm probably going to take it easy and make a 2 day trip up, so if any of the Atlanta area folks want to meet up on the 18th, I'm game. Anybody else in the LA, MS, GA or FL area want to meet up and convoy it, please let me know.

I'm a musician (drummer). By an incredible coincidence, I'll be driving down to perform at a blues festival in NC that weekend. Wish I could carry a drumset on the Strom!
