I have had my tank off 4 times at the most for normal maintence. Since the last removal my quick disconnect closest to the tank has come undone, creating a potentional volatile situation. Once the gas literaly pour from the tank. But the bike was cold, 2 other times the machine was hot and gas leaked onto the rear exhaust manifold. It was hot enough to cause the fuel to vaporize. After performing a thorough visual inspection of the fitting I could see no cracking, or visable damage, nor interferance issues with it. (I am a US nuclear Power Plant inspector, certified to ASME, and ANSI standards, so this visual inspection is well within my field of expertise)
I have ordered a new line at the cost of 33.00 dollars as I could not just get the quick connect. I do feel if this is an isolated case it should not be addressed by the factory, however if it prominent issue, a recall or a change of design should be addressed.
