Well, I'm on a high wind lockdown here so I won't be able to make the ride tomorrow morning. It's blowing 55mph gusts here.

I spent a little time working out a ride that I'm going to take my wife on in two weeks. Any and all are invited.

The rough version of the ride is breakfast at a place in Loma Linda that serves pancakes the size of a dinner plate. Their short stack is 3 inches thick. From there I'll take the back canyon route to Banning, Hwy 243 to Idyllwild, drop down near Hemet, cut back North to Oak Glen, then working our way to Chaparral Motorsports (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/assets/html/homepage.asp?URLCheck=1) where I'll likely spend some money before calling it a day

Here's a map of what I have planned. It's a 122 mile figure 8 pretty much all back roads and good amount of twisties. Hwy 243 to Idyllwild and Hwy 74 to Hemet were both listed in the book "Best Roads of California" it's an older book now but I still refer to it for ride ideas.

If there's any interest let me know and I'll work out the details with Rally Points and such.

That was our 1st ride. Great ride! I hope you guys have fun! Right now, the wind up here is dead still. Weather.com says 9mph at my location at the start of tomorrows ride, and max of 10-15mph. So up here it looks like there wont be a big wind problem. Im suprised the wind in your area is so much different.

Good luck with the ride, and stay safe!

I'm surprised too. It's been blowing here non-stop since Tuesday. When I drive to Palmdale for work it's been blowing too, but not as strong. My guess is that it's been about 35mph gusts there. I never have been to Ojai I was looking forward to going. Heck, I've been looking forward to riding anywhere. Four days in a row with the bike in the garage, that's a new record since I bought it.
