HI all: Just installed a Madstad. Installation went smooth enough. But I hate the "term" snug in the instructions. Since they use these rubber compression nut sleeves I can see their point but how tight is too tight.
So how do you know when "snug" is not too tight (I know that sounds bad:mrgreen: )

"snug" is the point just before you hear the cracking sound. :)

I consider "snug" a 4 setting on the clutch of my cordless 18v Dewalt Drill

Thanks. At least you have a definition. For me it is a "feel" thing, but on a windscreen that concerns me. Really don't want it coming off at 70 mph.:(

I consider Snug to be the point right around where the screw starts to protrude from the back of the well nut. No problems thus far.

ASME mechanical defines snug as one half turn pass finger tight. I am an ASME inspector, sorry I didn't see this sooner.
