Come on Suzuki................let's have that as a stock option and not something one has to buy after driving the bike home.

Why?

Different products have different feature sets that differentiates them in the market.

Why???? So it won't get into your pocket for another $55. Seems obvious.:D

If Suzuki fitted the hand guards standard the marketing people would say that there was more perceived value in the bike and put the price up another $100.
Take ABS for example. The difference in price with and without ABS in the USA is around $500 I believe. It costs car manufacturers around $25 in extra components to put ABS into a car and I suspect that the actual manufacturing cost for a bike will not be substantially more, lets say $100 but because of the perceived extra value Suzuki can up the price considerably.
I would rather have a bike with less on it then put the things I want rather than pay for stuff that I either do not want or do not need.
