Okay, so once we decide on a date for Big B's tech day, I thought maybe those of us riding down from the North could meet up somewhere and head down together. B wants to get things started in the morning, around 9-ish, and it'll take us around two hours to get there, so maybe we'll meet early somewhere.
Who's interested?
Any suggestions on the meeting place and time?
Any suggestions on the route down? Slab it or backroads?

I vote no to any slabs. :)
Looking at the map, State Route 3 takes you directly to Westerville. I have no idea what the road is like, though.

I vote for a meet in Medina at Rt 18 and Rt 71. As far as time, what about 7am. As far as route, how about 42?

I've taken 42 down, which is fun but once you hit Mansfield, man it's slow going. MFD has so many traffic lights it's rediculous. I'm down for whatever, let me take a look at that Rt. 3.

It doesn't matter to me. I good with what ever!

Actually, that Rt. 3 might not be a bad solution. We could jump on it straight out of Medina, and it skirts the Mohican State Forest, which is sure to be exciting. That's a definite possibility.
You guys taking anything down to install? I'll be doing a 43t rear sprocket, SpeedoHealer and MasterMike's rear spacers. I bought a set of the spacers used off that "other" forum. I'll also have the Leo's on by then as they're coming tomorrow. Somehow between now and then I need to get that stupid 600 mile service done too, come on weather!!!

I got nothin' to install. Just hoping to get a TBS done & gain a little confidence watching others doing a little wrenching. :)
I've been trying to get mine in for the 4000 mile service. I have an appointment tomorrow...I don't think I'll make it.

I may have my skid plate by then and I do need to do a ground wire.
By the way, this kind of sucks. I am typing this all from my phone.

Hey guys......the 9 oclock time isn't set in stone, I just meant that some people may start arriving by then. Do what is best for you guys, I know that it is a pretty good haul.
Route 3 is a nice road, and it will pretty much take you straight to my house. If you do take route 3, you will eventually come to the MAXTOWN/POLARIS intersection....hang a left on Maxtown. Go to the 2nd light & take a left on Hilmar. First stop sign "Pine Hollow" take a right, I am the 5th house on left.

This is great, Brian! You should be commended for putting this on.
Unfortunately, my body will not allow me to ride that far. Even if I could ride that far I wouldn't be in any shape to turn a wrench. I would have to go to bed. My lower back is acting up where I had the previous surgery.
This is particularly unfortunate because I need both sprockets and chain replaced and my new spacers installed. Also my lean condition could use a flash from a Yoshbox or ever what they are. I'm simply going to pay my dealer to do it. I don't mind, if they will just do it better than half assed.

Thanks for the kind words...I wish that you could come too.:( If you want a good dealer, I would give Motorsports of Columbus a try. I have dealt with them, and found them very fair, courteous and professional. I might try to have another get together early Fall or late Summer, down in your part of the woods.

When I lived in Columbus I always went to Hinds Powersports out near Delaware on rt 23. I think that's what it was called anyway, they always did me right.

They no longer advertise in the Cycle Trader rag. They are/were a very high volumn dealer. Never did any business with them. Me and my crew had some bad experiences with Acker's, back years ago.
I've had some VERY bad experiences with motorcycle dealers.

Really? No shit, of course I'm talking about back in 1999, I think that was the last time I was there. I had them put a full Muzzys exhaust and a jet kit on my Ninja, and they did a great job. That was like a whole new bike when I got it back.

Awesome. Should be a fantastic ride down, I can't wait! Although I wonder how chilly it will be that early, I rode to work at 6 am this morning and I had my heated grips cranked!
Oh, and it's been ENTIRELY too long since I've eaten at the Waffle House. I love the Waffle House.

Chance of rain in the morning...the forecast sure went from sunny to poopy fast! Still going to be warm, but cloudy all suckin day. Me and my bud have a nice ride route planned, should be a good time. I need a new front tire, so I won't push it as hard as I normally would.;) I bought the burgers, dogs, buns, chips, pop and beer this evening. I think I got enough....may need more if the turnout is REALLY good. I bought 6 ft of vac tubing today, and enough connectors to do 4 bikes. I bought all the male fittings they had left.
Be sure you wear your rubbers, don't wanna get wet if ya don't have to.

Forecast is still clear all weekend up this way. Columbus forecast says slight chance...that means the odds are in our favor to stay dry. :)

I just picked up a DL650 tonight. I live in Wooster, so I may try to join up with you as you come thru town in the morning, assuming the weather isn't too bad. I figure you'll hit Wooster about 7:45 to 8:15. If all at once there's an extra bike in your group - it'll be me. I'll introduce myself when the chance comes.

all right its 7:45 and I am leaving. I am coming from the south so I should be there by 9:30 - 10:00 unless I hit rain which could slow me down a bit.
