Took a ride down the 5 freeway to Washington Blvd off ramp to Vail to replace my pitted screen. As I was waiting to pick it up, I got to talking to one of the techs and it turns out that they don't (didn't) have a mold for the lights. It seems that other people use a SC650 set and they are just a hair different, or so I'm told. They do work, but why not get the real thing?

They casted the bike and got a free set.

Looks sharp. I'd thought about the wire-type protectors, but I may have to look into a set of those. Any idea on cost?

The cost hasn't been finalised, but $40 a set was mentioned. They'll come with the 4 industrial velcro buttons for each side (total 8) and 1 alcohol wipe to clean the point of contact for each button

Looks like they would fly off at 75-80 mph.

Nope and thy don't fly off at a buck forty. Of course not on the Wee but the FJR. Way cheaper than replacing the housing glass. When they get pitted up, throw them away and buy a new pair. Way cheaper.
