View Full Version : Not that bad!
Took the vee on a short run into southern New Hampshire today. Left home at 5:45AM, attended a safety seminar in Jaffrey, and got back at 1:30. It was 28F when I left, got down to 19F to 20F by the time I got along side the Quabbin. Those little heat pads are all it took to make the trip pleasurable. [temps were from the Buick that carried the rest of my crew.] About 150 miles total and averaged about 38 miles per cup of coffee.

Hi 1.3G
That's a good days run given the temperature. It's great just to get out and "stretch your legs" for a bit waiting for Spring to finally come in.
Yesterday, I rode about 100 mi. (from Rocky Hll, CT, circled Barkhamsted Reservoir and came home) in 40 degree temps and I thought I was doing good. I stopped for coffee once.
What type of heat pads are you talking about?
The wee gets considerably better mileage than the vee!!!
and- The heat pads are just those little packets that put out heat through an oxidation processwhen exposed to air. The ones I got at the gun shop ($0.69 ea.) lasted a good 7 hours in the gloves, but petered out quicker in the boots.
