Just got a new set of Conti Trail Attacks because I got a wicked price on them. $280 installed, but I've notice an immediate issue. When I'm stuck behind a truck (wind buffeting) or just lots of traffic at 55+, the front gets very twitchy like it wants to get into a speed wobble. Very light like its just beneath the surface. Same thing if I take my hands off the grips with no traffic. Any idea what might be causing this?

I just got through adjusting my valves (20 K miles) . It does not seem to be runnining as good as it was. I have not ridden my bike since 7/1/10, ( had a bone graft on my skull :yikes: ) so I kinda forgot what to expect. Any way it seems to be running rich and ideling funny.

It is backfiring sometimes but I am wondering if that has anything to do with a BAD exhaust leak that i need to fix ?

If I had a cam a tooth off ( wich I don`t think I do ) would it run at all ? It seems to do ok at higher RPM`s.

I also put new ngk Iridium plugds in it.

I had a $50 JCW box that my wife liked to lean on despite its obvious POS-ness. It finally broke. she wants another (better) one.

I'm looking at the coocase boxes with the backrest pad mostly for the backrest feature. The no-frills model v36 case + pad is only about $200 bucks.. some aftermarket backrests are that much alone so it looks like a good deal for the backrest plus some extra lockable storage..

The mounting plate looks to be plastic. can anyone vouch or comment on sturdiness and comfort from the coocase as backrest?

So I have a Givi V46 that I use as as a topcase/passenger backrest on longer trips two-up. I'd like to buy another smaller top case to take on one-up dirt/gravel road trips. Something to keep my stuff in, but that I don't have to worry about damaging in case of a spill.

I'm thinking something similar to the smaller Givi "Monolock" top cases, but I don't believe those will fit the Monokey top case mount I have. Do any of the cheaper Givi knock-off brands make something that would work w/ the mount I have??

Thanks!

I have done it now, sold my Harley and bought an 03 Vee. Man what a bike. Getting the dealer to check the TBS and clean the TB boots and reseat them to ensure I have a good start. There seems to be no shuddering so the clutch basket is ok for now.

I am a quinquagenarian biker in the pacific somewhere, ok in Auckland and look forward contributing to this site.

Ok, I've been thinking a lot. (I take a lot of philosophy courses, so don't worry, it is nothing to be alarmed about).

A recent thought I've had is that "it is stupid to die for one's country". (I hope everyone agrees)
Here are some reasons (not limited to the ones I give, but the two I mention should cover the major objections; there are many more reasons I am willing to discuss if anyone asks):
- Once you're dead, you can't enjoy the country.
- Your country would never die for you.

That is not what I am curious about, and is not something I want to get into (unless you're willing to discuss whether there is such a thing as a truly altruistic act, in which case you'd better come equipped).

The question I have found while exploring this thought is the following:

What can motivate someone to kill for their country?
Is there something that can justify it?

I couldn't come up with a single thing...
And I don't mean superficially; I've given the matter some thought.

I can kill for myself, without question, without hesitation, and without remorse, but for an abstract concept such as a "country", I cannot make myself do anything.

Can someone please explain this to me?
