I'm reasonably local (Los Angeles) and I've added the dates to my calendar. I'm looking forward to a weekend in the hills.

I am really looking forward to this. Will be nice to ride with other Vstroms. I am located between San Diego and LA and willing to ride anywhere. Can't wait.

The Dalles was wet and cold but we had fun anyway so closer and warmer sounds good. Once again I bring my son, Sir talkalot, the backseat driver and we are ready to ride. As time gets closer maybe we can set up rally points along the way for those traveling from the wet lands to the north.

I'll probably come from Sacramento.

The rides for the rally are starting to take shape and they are gonna be epic!
Tentatively this is what I have in mind:
One of the rides will take you through some really scenic roads to the north to a neat motorcycle museum and through Solvang. Great riding.
Another ride will take us down Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu, up the world famous Mulholland Hwy and "the Snake" portion of the Hwy. (TWISTY!!!)
Then we will shoot down the back side of Malibu through Camarillo and up to the 33 for more twists and a home made BBQ lunch at a really out of the way cantina.
Another ride I will lead if I get at least 10 bikes that want go is a ride to Kernville. It will be a long day, but a ride to remember. It will go from the ocean to the hills, to farmland, to a really twisty 30 mile ride up another mountain to a valley with a lake (Lake Isabella) and a great pizza joint. Map here:

Logistically this ride will have to be done Friday or Sunday. Saturday will be the MC Museum ride to Solvang.

There will be dirt riding available too!

Wow, 5 hours to go less than 200 miles on the Kernville ride? Assuming that is due to curves (and it looks like it is) and not just ridiculously low speed limits, that's gotta be a fun ride. It will be a long day but sign me up! I guess I'd better get my reservations made.

The Kern ride has some awesome twists.
We will have to have a riders meeting before this one as there are a few tricks to this route. I will work up a GPX file for it and provide maps. In addition, we will be using the old 'wait til the guy behind you sees you make the next turn' rule. This ride will be for spirited riders and slow riders alike. We will wait for you!
