Just for the record, I'm rogering up for this baby NOW.

I'm back on my Glee and am building up my road strength bit by bit.

Can't wait to see you guys again!!

The group I rode down with including the Canadian contingency had an awesome time at Romney this year. For sure I will attend next year, and believe more from N.E.V.A. will attend after hearing such great things about this event. Next year though, I will not ride back to Lake George in one day - just too stressful. I thought I was blessed to live in the Adirondacks of N.Y., close to Vermont/N.H./Maine, but West Virginia riding rocks!

I'm guessing May 6-8, 2016 until they formally announce it.
It has always been the first weekend in May....2015 was May 1-3...it may therefore be April 30, May 1,2.

If it does become May 6-8....could be a good reason to spend the rest of the week there, and go to the Iron Horse Eastern V-Strom Rally on May 12-15....wooha !

Tom....you need 13 days off !

Just saw this after several months offline. Sorry for the tardy reply, VTom...saw your posts to DD on the old 2015 Romney thread under "Events." Glad we have dates now...I can't wait!

Hope to see you there, Rudderfeet!

Hey, no problem eh ! The Foreign Legion usually heads south from Canuckistan on the Wednesday morning and stay over in NY, so we will be passing your way on Thursday to pitch before dark. We take the Beatles routes...you know....The Long and Winding Road...so it's an all day run from NY. We usually meet at the Wellsboro Diner for breakfast.

Watch for the official thread from Dirt Dad, and keep in touch. If you are really adventurous, you can always team up with ChiroSyd >:)

Looking forward to meeting you.

Hey Phil,
Hope all is well with you and the Canadian contingency. I am planning on attending Romney 2016, what at great time we had this year at Romney 2015. I am sure the Romney thread will be active as we get closer. I will most likely meet you guys at the Wellsboro Diner. My only mistake last year was to hightail it out of Romney at 6 a.m. Sunday and ride straight home to Lake George arriving 5 p.m. - getting too old for that long in one day.

BTW, anyone thinking of purchasing a new bike, Romney Cycle had some sick deals on 1000's and other bikes. If I was in need of a new bike, I would certainly check with them first.

Pete,
Great event, great riding. If you need it, you can stay by me on your way through. As I did last year, I will most likely be leaving Lake George on Wednesday afternoon, and stay in Elmira for night 1. I met up with Mike(Tenny80) and his friend John, and Thursday a.m. we met up with Phil and the Canadian contingency. Great ride down through Penn. on our way down to Romney. You won't be dissapointed!

This must be one heck of an event since all you guys are already chomping at the bit to attend. Hope to see you there (with Stromnado in tow)

It would be great if you guys join us Mark ! With Pete & Gini as well, it's like the Peep Show with a winter break. It's the first big ride for the Canucks, and we always enjoy it. Rides are not organized other than posted GPX routes from previous years and new adventures. Great roads whether dirt or paved. Nice town, with excellent friendly restaurants
Lots of Beemers, Teneres and other ADV guys, but the Strom group gets larger every year. :grin2:
Great charity cause as well and great sponsors.

This is from the 2015 last page...$3125 was raised

Today, Friday May 29th we presented the West Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind with money raised from our Adventure Riders. Mark Gandolfi & Bob Haines accepted the check on behalf of the school. They were excited to share that the donations would be purchasing all student Athletes new sports shoes for the 2015-2016 school year! We couldn't have done this with out our awesome Adventure riders! What a wonderful event with great support!

Thanks !!

Accommodations? Is there a chance to score a motel room or is it camping or stay home? I don't mind camping but I really don't like it when its wet and cold and no way to get dried out and warmed up. I guess that make me not part of the real adventure crowd!

Great video, now I just have to figure out how to get the time off to go! I noticed Phil and the Canadians were at this event too, do you guys ever work????

Only 2 of us are retired....the rest are just good planners ! We leave on the Wednesday and stay over at a friends in NY, then take all the twisties on the way down. A few have to slab it back on Sunday, but the rest of us take 2 days to get home....or more. When in Rome they say....!
