I like "onj2wheels" answer best. Unless you think you really need it..... The switch came from a lawsuit in the 70s where someone wrecked their Kawasaki. The rider forgot to raise his kickstand, but the lawyer claimed it was the fault of the manufacturer because they failed to prevent the rider from forgetting. I could have said it better, but I'm sure you get the idea.
It is either a normally open or normally closed switch. In days past a lot of people simply disconnected the switch and added a jumper if needed. However, sometimes disconnecting is all that is needed.
Of course, Joethebike's solution looks pretty good.... and frugal.
Sprocket ripped the wires apart so I just jumped them together for the ride home. Then removed the switch. Still gone.
You just have to be a bit more aware of the kickstand and make sure it's up.
