Could this be the end of using beads to balance tires? US Congress passed this: The bill, called the Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015, was first introduced into the House back in March. It would ban companies from using microbeads.

How large are Dynabeads? The wikipedia article above says anything less than 5 mm, or about 3/16" in diameter. I'm assuming the ban would have specific size limitations.

Dynabeads are ceramic, not plastic. I'm not sure they would be considered microbeads as defined by the new regulation. I think part of the problem with the plastic microbeads is that they float. I think dynabeads would sink and be similar to sand.

:nerd:I think I need to get out more :nerd:

I happened to have some spare packs of dynabeads.

Test #1 How big are they?

According to my vernier, less than 1mm diameter

Test #2 Do they float (in water)?

No. I dropped some into a teaspoon of water and they sank. I understand they are made of some sort of ceramic material.

I wonder what other deep and meaningful tasks I will get up to today
