Best Handlebar Bag

Any thoughts about a simple handlebar bag to store wallet, keys, garage door opener, etc while riding? I am looking for something reasonably large but especially one that fits my new 2015 DL650 like a glove.

Small Givi quick release tank bag like I have.......love it. You will need the locking ring for it as well, such a nice system over straps or magnets.

I got this one. Its not handlebar mounted but rather a magnetic tank mounting & lanyard system with a sunglasses pocket on the seat side of the bag with a center pouch where you can keep all sorts of other doodads. The size of this bag was the perfect compromise for me between big and bulky and too small to be useful.

Like others I use a tank bag. SW Motech bags connection enduro model. Base straps on and bag zips to base for easy removal if you want to take it with you. Plus potential to move to different bikes.

The Ogio and especially the SW-MOTECH are a bit Pricey!! Do the magnets and/or bag scratch up the tank? The Givi looks to be a bit larger than I need, does it block view of the instrument panel? Anybody have other budget friendly suggestions?

Yes, I found the Ogio to be pricey especially if you are from Canada. The Ogio is well protected between the tank and the magnates so don't be concerned with it scratching up the finish on your bike. The reason I went with the Ogio is because of its small size and therefore no obstructed view of the instruments. Keep your eye out for a sale or a used one.

Here's a review where the reviewer also refers to a 1/2 price sale Ogio had a couple of years back.

Best Handlebar Bag

+1 on the Givi tanklock bags...Easy on/off in several sizes. Two minutes to install. No worries about magnets or straps or chafing the tank!

I've got this one and like it quite a bit. It's maybe larger than the OP is looking for.

I also have a Cortech Super Mini tank bag that is probably more the size the OP wants. Problem is Cortech doesn't make it any more. Of the 2, the mini is my favorite but it's getting worn on the base.
Looking at the other posts, I think I would go with the Givi system. That solid mounting to the ring would be great. I've not had an issue with the magnetic bags though. I use the leash on the bigger one.
